This review is a bit long; but that's because our buyer's agent, Krista Wilson, a member of the John Webber team, did so much to help us make our long distance move from NY to Bluffton, SC. She was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish.

During the pandemic my husband and I began planning for our 2023 retirement. We knew that we would be heading to South Carolina, but we hadn't decided if it would be the low country or the Charleston area. We spent the month of December 2022 exploring Charleston and January 2023 exploring Bluffton.

Well, from the moment she said hello Krista was committed to helping us find the perfect home. Krista listened to our plans and understood clearly that we had not yet decided where we would end up buying. That didn't stop her from making us feel like we were her number one priority. We knew we wanted to purchase a home in a 55+ community; but which one? Krista is an active listener; based on our interests, house wish list and budget she helped us narrow our search to two communities. Krista showed us model homes in both communities and made great suggestions about where to eat and places we must see while in the low country. It was her goal to show us just how great a fit Bluffton was for future plans; and boy did she succeed. We returned to NY to sell our home.

We changed our plan to build (too long of a wait) and decided to look at re-sales. We contacted Krista telling her of our new plans and that we were going to get rent an AirBnB for three months; but Krista encouraged us to rent within our desired community while looking instead. She got us in touch with a rental company and we secured a place. We were back in Bluffton by June 1st, renting proved priceless because we got the opportunity to see that the community truly offered us what we were looking for. It also helped us narrow which neighborhoods we liked better and what locations were important to us.

Krista quickly began showing us move in ready homes; spending days at a time with us. After seeing most of the homes on the MLS without finding a home that checked our boxes, Krista used her network connections to gain access to homes prior to them officially hitting the market. Within days we were ready to make an offer on two homes. Krista got the negotiations going immediately. Although we did not get either home Krista provided exceptional service and was incredibly responsive to our queries and decisions; as we were not interested in a bidding war for homes at the top of our budget for a house that still required us putting more money into them to get what we want in our home.

At the end of June my husband and I had to reassess our situation; we now wanted to purchase a resale for less money that we could design to our liking. We were pretty sure we knew which house we should purchase. It was a house that Krista had already taken us to twice before. Dare we have her take us back for a third visit? When she heard our thoughts she not only insisted we walk through it once again to make sure it was everything we remembered, but she spent a day showing us other homes too. She was so excited for us. She used her negotiation skills to get the house for what we wanted offered so we could do the renovations we wanted. In addition, her resources allowed her to set us up with a great local real estate lawyer and home inspector!

Krista is a perfect mix of southern charm, local knowledge, class, humor, resources/network, patience, availability, and boundless enthusiasm. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and truly had our best interests at heart, from start to finish. She turned what could have been an extremely stressful process into an enjoyable experience. She went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable throughout the process. We highly recommend her!

Christina was great at keeping me updated on my build with pictures, texts and emails. She was responsive to all my questions and got me connected to the right people for my quotes. She was also there at closing which went very smoothly.
